INTERMEDIATE YOUTH FENCING:
gROUP cLASSES
Intermediate fencers are invited to move to this level by the coaches once they have gained sufficient skills. These classes meet twice a week for 90-minutes each. We also have optional open fencing on Saturday mornings, at no additional cost.
We have three group classes at this level:
· Intermediate Youth Foil I: Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:15-5:45pm
· Intermediate Youth Foil II: Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:45-7:15pm
· Intermediate Youth Epee: Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:45-7:15pm
AND then after Intermediates….its’ on to the Competitive Levels!
Costs Involved
1. Vivo Ltd. Annual Club Membership of $175 – due at registration. This amount is prorated as we advance through the 10-month season. All fencers beyond Beginners pay a club membership.
2. Monthly group classes using automatic payments of $225 charged at the beginning of each active month (September – June.)
3. OPTIONAL 1-1 private lessons. Private lessons are 20 minutes long. Individual private lessons are $40 Times are coordinated directly with the coaches. We sell packages that are also charged at the beginning of each month.
· Bronze package – 2 private lessons a month – so, on one every other week $80/month
· Silver package – weekly private lessons $160/month
iNTRAMUAL cOMPETITIONS
Vivo includes Intramural competitions for this level of fencing – held at the club several times a season - to introduce the fencers to competition, teach them the rules and have some fun. We are a competitive sport! We will let you know about the schedule for these. They will be held on Saturday mornings.
USFA Membership is required
Non-competitive US Fencing Association membership is now $15/year, August – July.
We sign up the beginners – but once you are an intermediate – it’s your responsibility to renew. Some of you who started at the end of last season have been grandfathered. If your membership expires in 2023 – you are ALL SET. Search for your number, sign in (use forgot password if you don’t have one!) and renew your membership directly at https://member.usafencing.org/search/members
EQUIPMENT:
Now that your fencer has completed beginning fencing, there is an equipment requirement. We have most of the equipment at the club and can outfit your fencer with the right size. We will charge you upon deliver There are several options.
Intermediate Package I: Mask, glove, underarm protector, plastic chest plate and body cord $170.
Intermediate Package II: adds a weapon (foil or epee) and a fencing bag $280.
